Private tenants are regularly handed contracts with clauses that are legally weak or even invalid. Consulting a lawyer quickly runs into hundreds of euros, and fast advice simply was not available.
(Challenge)
Build a tool that reads a rental contract (PDF or photo), flags legal weak points, explains why something is risky and gives concrete advice that consumers can actually understand.
(Approach)
- OCR pipeline for PDFs and photos (scans straight from the kitchen drawer)
- Claude API for the analysis, with a system prompt tuned to Dutch tenancy law
- Structured output: risk score, per clause explanation, action list
- Stripe checkout for single analyses and bundles
- Privacy by design: contracts are deleted automatically after 24 hours
